What a day
Today, I performed not one, but two magic shows—one in Lansdale and the other in Doylestown. I was all set for my usual routine when disaster struck: my trusty, vanishing Coke bottle prop was nowhere to be found! I searched high, low, and even under the magic carpet… but nope, it had vanished (and not in the magical way).
Now, with two birthday parties waiting, I had to think fast. Cue my brilliant idea: instead of a Coke bottle, why not use a solid wooden hammer? A hammer that vanishes and reappears—now that’s magic!
And guess what? It was a hit! The kids in Lansdale gasped, the parents in Doylestown chuckled, and I thought to myself, “Maybe the hammer is even more astonishing than the bottle!” Time will tell, as I plan to try it out in some upcoming shows. Today’s experiment definitely made for an interesting twist, and I might just have a new favorite trick!
Fun Magic Fact:
Did you know the first recorded magic trick is from ancient Egypt? It’s called the “Cups and Balls,” and it’s still performed today! Magicians have been amazing audiences with disappearing and reappearing objects for thousands of years.
Behind-the-Scenes Insight:
One of the wildest parts about being a magician? You never know what’s going to go missing—props, wands, even my lunch once! Today’s disappearing Coke bottle threw me for a loop, but sometimes a quick-thinking magician can turn a challenge into an opportunity for a new trick. The real magic? Improvisation!
